Benefit’s Erase Paste Concealer ✯✯✯✯

17 Nov

This concealer brought up a bit of controversy.

Don’t get me wrong! It’s great for under eye but when it comes to blemishes it leaves a greasy mess.

This concealer has a salmon undertone to cancel out the blue in your under eye circles. It’s VERY thick so you need a really good setting powder. If you don’t the concealer can crease like nothing else!

That’s where I’l tied! As a student, I stay up very late with school work, leaving me with dark dark circles. It took a bit of trial and error to get this concealer to work for me! But now that I’ve got it, it’s a LIFE SAVER!

Step 1: PRIME – I put a bit of eyeshadow primer under my eyes.

Step 2: Apply a THIN layer or Benefit’s Erase Paste. Think about how much you need, then cut that in half.

Step 3: SET THAT SUCKER! Apply a nice amount of powder to set the concealer. Either your foundation power or just a setting powder.

(Left without, Right with)

This concealer is a hefty $26 for .15 oz. I personally opted in for the $10 mini that came with a kit. I recommend that because you truly just need the tinniest amount. I’ve had the mini for over 2 months now and barely made a dent.

*For blemishes I recommend Benefit’s “Boing”!*

“Black Cherry Chuteny” 11/12/12

12 Nov

I’m wearing OPI’s “Black Cherry Chuteny”. It’s a dark dark dark violet color. Think the darkest grape you’ve ever seen. It has very subtle shimmer and is a very nice fall color.

I find this color takes a good 5-6 days to start chipping bad enough for me to take it off. Shh! I don’t even use a top coat!

It’s very opaque, 1-2 coats does the trick for me.

I’m not a fan of straight black nail polish but this color satisfies my craving for a dark polish!

You can buy this for $8.50 at Ulta or

Stila’s Santa Monica Boulevard Trio

10 Nov

This is an amazing trio from Stila. It’s not your basic neutral browns, but it’s defiantly still wearable for school and work.

This trio is called Santa Monica Boulevard and features Coy, Mystic and Poise.

*All swatches are without a base*

You can purchase this trio for $10 on the Stila website. You heard me, TEN BUCKS for THREE Stila Eyeshadows! WOWZA!

Coy (top) is a light pale pink. It lacks a bit in pigmentation but when using this trio I use it as a brown bone highlight. Not the selling point of the trio…

Mystic (middle) is the color that made this buy completely worth it! I find this color to be so unique and have the most beautiful sheen to it, especially when used wet. It’s a light Sea Foam Green. I have never seen another eye shadow like this. I will cry when it’s all gone.

Poise (bottom) is a plummy burgundy color. It’s a great color to pop into the crease or to run across the lash line.  It’s not extremely unique and I have some other eyeshadows in my collection similar to it, but if you don’t have it, it’s a great color to add to your collection.

THANK YOU STILA FOR MAKING THIS PACKAGING! This palette is in a sleek black case with a window so I can see the colors. It’s great for travel. Sadly, it doesn’t have a mirror but I normally travel with one. Also is makes the packaging lighter.

Overall: I would say if you can get your hands on it, go for it! At about $3.25 per shadow you can’t go wrong. I would may $10 for just Mystic! Let me know if you want to see a tutorial using this trio!

“An Affair In Red Square” 11/08/12

8 Nov

I’m wearing OPI’s “An Affair In Red Square”. It’s a soft, lavender/grey color.

Because of the grey undertones, I find this nail color works with a lot of my outfits.

Would any of you like seeing outfit of the day?

Sadly, this color has a tendency to chip very quickly on me 😦 Even with a base/top coat.

ELF Day2Night Brightening Eye Color Quad ✯✯✯✯✯

8 Nov

I. Love. ELF.

Guess how much this quad was? $1!!!! And they have so many different quads, you could live off them!

*all swatches are without any base!*

I would recommend using a base to prevent creasing!

This quad is called Day2Night. It’s my personal favorite because you can use it for school and for a night out! Hence the name.

This quad includes an off white color, a burgundy  a chocolate/grey brown and a copperish brown.

The off white isn’t my favorite, but if you’re traveling it can be used as a brown bone color. The burgundy color is to die for!

It’s not too red that it’s unwearable but it gives you a subtle warmth to your face.

The brownish grey color is great as either a liner or a crease color. Now the copperish brown has the most amazing sheen to it. All these colors are shimmery and/or contain glitter.

The packaging isn’t too bad. For $1 you can’t expect much. It’s slim and AMAZING for travel. It includes a sponge tip applicator and under that it has a tiny mirror. One small complaint is that the eye shadows come in triangles and it will be hard to use up all the eyeshadow once you hit pan.

You can buy this at either target or for only ONE DOLLAR! $.25 per shadow. I kid you not. I have tried a few others as well including Butternut (Like), Drama (Like), Ethereal (Dislike), Brownstone (LOVE), Teal Dream (ehh) and Ocean Dreams (ehh).

Hard Candy’s Glamoflauge Concealer ✯✯✯✯✯

6 Nov

This concealer isn’t called heavy duty for nothing! This product claims to be able to cover up tattoos. I don’t have any tattoos to demonstrate, but I totally believe this claim!

To demonstrate, I took 2 lip pencils with red undertones to act as blemishes. (1st picture). Then I applied the concealer. After a bit of blending the red marks were gone!

With this concealer, you really only need the SMALLEST amount. The hardest part is figuring out home much you need. Think about how much you’ll need, then squeeze out half of that. Remember, you can always get more.

I personally don’t get that many blemishes, but I am cursed with really dark under eyes. I use two layers to cover them and it stays pretty much the whole day if I set it with powder. You can defiantly build up the coverage as needed.

ALWAYS SET THIS WITH POWDER! I got lazy one day and my goodness it was fading in some parts and staying with the others.

I bought this item at Walmart for only SIX DOLLERS ($6). What a steal! And it comes with a ton of product (.71oz). Sadly it only comes in 3 shades. I’m using Tan and I’m a NC40 in MAC.

Price, heavy duty, thick, buildable

“Thinking of Blue” 11/04/12

4 Nov

I’m wearing “460 Thinking of Blue”by Sally Hansen. It’s a gorgeous deep navy blue. I’m not much for wearing intricate designs on my nails, I try to wear a versatile color. I find this matches with most of my outfits because it’s just such a basic color.

This will last me about 4-5 days with a topcoat before it starts looking awful.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Review ✯✯✯✯✯

Maybelline Color Tatto by Eye Studio ReviewImage

ImageI love lovel ove these! Whether I be in a hurry or need a long lasting base, these babies are here for me! I put them to the test by wearing the shade “bad to the bronze” for a whole school day (9 hours) and they were a bit faded but still had a beautiful color and finish to them.

I currently own 3 of the colors

With Flash

“Bad to the bronze”

A a shimmery brown. Similar tone to Satin Taupe by MAC. It has no actual glitter, but when applied it has the most gorgeous finished look to it. WITH ONLY ONE COLOR! I use this when I’m in a hurry and don’t have time for a full eye look.

“Audacious Asphalt”

A deep silvar/grey color. It has noticeable glitter in it, but isn’t over powering. Another one of those colors I use when I’m in a rush.

“Fierce and Tangy”

A matte tangerine orange. I have only used this a handfull of times. I bought it on a whim when I saw it at my grocery store on sale for $2. I have been able to use it on friends for halloween and for the school play. It’s very opaque and because it’s matte it’s a great base!

I don’t mind the packaging too much. It come’s in a glass jar with a plastic lid. Very similar to Benefit’s “Creaseless Creme Shadow/Liner”. It’s a little heavy since it is glass but it looks classy. It comes with .14oz of product. The Benefit one comes with .16oz.

I saw the orange shade on sale for $2 once, but I normally see them at Walgreens or CVS for around $6-7. They often have B1G1%50 so that’s the

best time to snag a few!

Amazing Product. VERY Long Wearing. Neutral and colorful choices. Has shimmer and matte shades. Drugstore.
